Step by step
- Choose Birthday Number. It's the first template in Memopix. For a year — 2026 or 2027 — use Year in Review or New Year.
- Type the number. Up to seven characters. Two digits are the sweet spot: each digit gets a wide, legible area to fill.
- Select your photos. 20 to 60 photos is ideal. For a birthday, one or two from every year of their life works beautifully.
- Adjust and title it. Swap tiles, change the style and write the title — a name, the date, a line from the toast.
- Export. PNG, JPEG or PDF, up to 8K with Pro — big enough for a party poster.
Why numbers work so well
A number is read instantly from across a room, which makes it the strongest shape for a party: everyone knows what it means before they've seen a single photo. Memopix draws digits from a heavy, rounded typeface so they stay legible when filled with photos — thin strokes would break up at tile size.
Ideas by age
- 1st birthday: one photo from each week or month of the first year.
- 18 or 21: one photo from every year, baby to now.
- 30, 40, 50: photos collected from friends and family through an invite link.
- Anniversaries: the number of years together — 10, 25, 50.
- The year itself: 2026 as a year-in-review, or 2027 for New Year's Eve.
Tips for a sharp result
- Close-ups beat group shots: each photo becomes a small tile.
- Use the portrait format for a poster, square for social posts, story for a phone screen.
- For a print larger than 35 cm (14 in), export in 4K or 8K.
Questions
Can I use any number?
Yes — any number or year of up to seven characters, like 1, 18, 50, 100 or 2027.
How many photos do I need for a number collage?
At least 10; 20 to 60 is ideal. Tiles repeat if the shape needs more cells than you have photos.
Can several people contribute photos?
Yes. Send an invite link and family or friends add photos from their own phones.
